Parisa Durrani (IMC2013)

After starting her career (post-IMC) as the Director of Strategy for Canada’s most awarded technology agency, Parisa Durrani is now the President of BASMA Beauty. BASMA Beauty launched this spring and their first product – The Foundation Stick – has been dubbed a “game-changer” by Beyonce’s makeup artist. It has also been featured in NYLON Magazine, Byrdie, Refiner29 and Bustle.

Cate Jensen (IMC18)

Cate was recently promoted to Director of Integrated Marketing overseeing all Beauty, Wellness and Luxury partnerships at Vice Media Group (which includes VICE, ViceTV, Refinery29, i-D, Garage, Pulse Films and Virtue Worldwide). Her experiences also includes being a Lead Strategist at Byte New York, a digital innovation agency, where she worked on accounts such as UGG, Johnson & Johnson and Ariana Grande.

Debbie Kao (IMC12)

With more than eight years brand marketing experience in FMCG industry in Taiwan, developing marketing strategy and driving business growth for several well-known brands, Debbie is joining Nike Shanghai as Senior Brand Manager. After graduating from IMC program, Debbie still keeps reminding herself to use consumer centric, and data driven focus to communicate with consumers, to keep building successful brands that resonate with consumers.

Andrew Theen (MSJ11)

Andrew Theen is the new podcasts editor at The Oregonian/OregonLive. Theen will oversee podcast creation and production at the largest news organization in Oregon. Theen started his career in public radio, where he was a reporter and producer for Oregon Public Broadcasting. After completing his MSJ, Theen begin working as a staff reporter at The Oregonian. He’s covered Portland City Hall, environmental issues, transportation and higher education at the paper since joining the staff in 2012. Theen created and launched The Oregonian’s first podcast — Beat Check with The Oregonian – in 2019 and will now oversee all podcasts at the paper. He lives in Portland with his wife and two daughters.

Courtney Wessel (IMC16)

Courtney J. Wessel was promoted to Engagement Strategy Supervisor at AbelsonTaylor, an award-winning health and wellness advertising agency. Wessel joined AbelsonTaylor 18 months ago as a Senior Engagement Strategist and recently helped launch G1 Therapeutics’ COSELA™ (trilaciclib), the first and only FDA-approved therapy indicated to decrease the incidence of chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression in adult patients living with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC)

Sisi Wei now serves as Co-Executive Director of OpenNews, a nonprofit that helps people strengthen relationships across organizations and build a more equitable future for journalism.
Sisi joined OpenNews in 2020 as Director of Programs, and previously was Assistant Managing Editor at ProPublica.

Olga Gonzalez Latapi (BSJ16)

I am very proud that I now work for two nonprofits: Amaryllis Recordings, a label celebrating experimental musicians and poets. This amazing label also released my first poetry album. I am their Communications Specialist.

The other nonprofit is The Nasiona, a literary magazine focused on expressing the creative power of otherized communities and minorities. I am their Translator, Transcriber and Head of the Writing Prompts Tournament.

I am also now a published poet and essayist and have won literary awards and been shortlisted for chapbook and manuscript competitions.

Ben Millstein (IMC12)

In March 2021 Ben Millstein was promoted to Senior Communications and Marketing Manager at Local Projects, the exhibit design studio behind the 9/11 Memorial Museum, Planet Word, and Greenwood Rising, a forthcoming museum about the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre and the resilient community that survived it. He also recently launched Prolognyc.com, a program dedicated to helping people become the better creative collaborators by measuring and growing their creative strengths.
