Medill Launches New Military Reporting Project
Medill is launching a Military Reporting Project in collaboration with the 1st Infantry Division at Ft. Riley, Kan., giving students a rare opportunity to report while embedded with troops.

Ten writers have been accepted into this year’s George R.R. Martin Summer Intensive Writing Workshop. Medill received hundreds of applications from accomplished journalists around the world.

Rebecca Jones (BSJ69, MSJ70)
Children’s book author Rebecca C. Jones, of Annapolis, MD, passed away on August 28, 2026. She had several interesting jobs: newspaper reporter, TV news reporter, journalism instructor, magazine editor, textbook writer, and author of 18 books for children and young adults.
